Diphan’s departure from the world was such that it left many in shock. One year on, the void is still felt by his colleagues from the Malayalam film insudtry, but they are not ready to forget him or leave things at that.
On March 13, friends, family, colleagues and media came together in Kochi to observe his death anniversary. A film festival, expected to be held on May 5 and 6, will be named after the director , and will be called Deepan Film Festival Kochi 2018 (DFFK, 2018).
Diphan also known as Deepan is ever remembered for his film Puthiya Mukham, which had actor
Prithviraj in the lead role. This film was important for the fact that it was his first project post the filmmaker's sabbatical. He was ailing from liver cirrhosis and kidney failure, following which he left the world, leaving the entire Malayalam film industry in shock.
