Jeethu Joseph’s directorial ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ starring Biju Menon and Joju George in the lead roles sees a slow weekday opening. On its first Monday, February 2, the film struggled to earn even half of its weekend day numbers. On the fourth day, Monday, ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ collected Rs 48 lakh according to industry tracker Sacnilk. These earnings are 58.26% less than what the film earned on Sunday. In four days, the film has only managed to collect Rs 3.78 crore in India's net collection. The footfall on Monday was quite poor, with the highest occupancy in Malayalam theatres recorded at night (16.95%). The film has also struggled overseas, adding only Rs 1 lakh in total. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 4.55 crore by the end of February 2.

Directed by Jeethu Joseph, ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ is scripted by Dinu Thomas Eelan. Actors Lena, Leona Lishoy, Shaju Sreedhar, Niranjana Anoop, and Vyshnavi Raj are seen in pivotal roles in the film. On the technical front, Satheesh Kurup has been roped in as the cinematographer, and Vinayak VS is the editor. The music for the film is composed by Vishnu Shyam.
Prasanth Madhav is the production designer.TOI has ranked the film 3.5, and the review reads, “The first half is excellent, luring us in with a good story, emotions and unexpected twists, and at the halfway point you have absolutely no clue of how the story might proceed. And when you think back, you will be struck by some cleverly placed dialogues that add up at the end of the film. While the second half has a novel narrative and, on the whole, the film is a pacey, that edge-of-seat element of a thriller is missing.
