Finally, after a long gap, the iconic character Aadu Thoma is back with a bang as the re-release of classic film ‘Spadikam’ had its re-release on the last day and is doing wonders at the box office. Reportedly, ‘Spadikam’ re-release has minted Rs 77 lakhs at the box office on its opening day.
Although the makers have not yet officially announced the collection figures for the movie, according to the Twitter forums that track the box office reports, ‘Spadikam’ re-release minted Rs 77 lakhs at the box office on its opening day. Considering the fact that it's a re-release, the movie is getting good numbers.
The movie had a clash release with the Mammootty starrer ‘Christopher’ and according to the reports, both films are performing well at the box office. Mammootty’s ‘Christopher’ is getting mixed responses from the audience.
Helmed by the veteran director Bhadran, ‘Spadikam’ is considered one of the timeless classics in the Malayalam film industry that changed the usual definition of a mass entertainer. Strong performances along with an equally well-built plot were the major highlight of the movie. The film also featured the actors Thilakan, Silk Smitha, Spadikam George, Chippy, Urvashi and several others in significant roles.
