Mollywood actor-director Basil Joseph never fails to impress the audience even with his acting abilities or direction skills. Now the actor played a lead role in the recently released realistic comedy-drama film ‘Palthu Janwar’ and the film reportedly got a decent opening at the Kerala box office as it minted around Rs 70- 75 Lakhs on its opening day.
‘Palthu Janwar’ hit the big screens on September 2nd and the film got decent responses from the audiences. Although the makers have not yet revealed the first-day collection figures, according to the Twitter forums that track box office collections, the Basil Joseph starrer minted Rs 70 Lakhs on its opening day at the Kerala box office.
‘Palthu Janwar’ is directed by Sangeeth P Rajan and the script is penned down by Aneesh Anjali and Vinoy Thomas. The film told the story of a character named Prasoon who is an animator by profession and gets forced to take up the job of a Government veterinary inspector. The initial reactions to ‘Palthu Janwar’ said that the film has a very raw and realistic touch coupled with some fine performances.
Apart from Basil Joseph, ‘Palthu Janwar’ also featured the actors Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan, Indrans, Sruthy Suresh, Vijayakumar, Jaya Kurup, Shammi Thilakan, and Steffy Sunny in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, the films ‘Thallumaala’ and ‘Nna, Thaan Case Kodu’ can be said as the most successful ventures recently in the Malayalam film industry. Suresh Gopi starrer investigation thriller ‘Paappan’ also earned it big at the Kerala Box Office.
