Surpassing the box office collection figures of the recently released films ‘Ottu’, and ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’, Basil Joseph’s realistic drama film ‘Palthu Janwar’ has reportedly minted over Rs 8.5 crores in 17 days.
‘Palthu Janwar’ hit the big screens on September 2nd and according to the Twitter forums that keep a track on box office collections of Malayalam movies, ‘Palthu Janwar’ has reportedly minted Rs 8.5 crores in 17 days. The amount is huge considering the fact that there was only less hype and no big stars for ‘Palthu Janwar’.

Basil Joseph played the lead character in ‘Palthu Janwar’ and the film majorly received positive responses from the audiences as most of them hailed the movie for its realistic execution style and magnificent performances of the actors. Actor Shammi Thilakan got much adulation for his character in this Basil Joseph starrer.

Helmed by the debutant director Sangeeth P Rajan, the script of ‘Palthu Janwar’ was penned down by the writers Vinoy Thomas and Aneesh Anjali. Renadive handled the cinematography of ‘Palthu Janwar’ and the editing by Kiran Das. Justin Varghese was roped in as the music composer for the movie.
Apart from Basil Joseph, ‘Palthu Janwar’ also featured the actors Indrans, Johny Antony, Dileesh Pothan, Shammi Thilakan, Unnimaya Prasad, Jaya Kurup, and Thankam Mohan in significant roles.
On the other hand, Basil Joseph’s judge character in Kunchacko Boban’s ‘Nna, Thaan Case Kodu’ got much appreciation from the audience. The actor also has several highly ambitious projects in the pipeline that includes ‘Pookkaalam’, ‘Kapp’, ‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hei’, and ‘Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham’.
