‘Malikappuram’ box office collection Day 40: Unni Mukundan starrer crosses Rs 100 crore
As Unni Mukundan starrer ‘Malikappuram’ continues its successful run in the theatres, the film has crossed a milestone at the box office. Vishnu Sasi Shankar’s directorial has grossed Rs 100 crore in the worldwide box office collection. Unni Mukundan, who played the lead role in the film, confirmed the same via a social media post.
On Wednesday (Feb 1) evening, Unni Mukundan took to his social media handle and dropped a poster that says that the film is successfully running in the cinemas on its 40th day and the box office collection has crossed Rs 100 crore.
“Thank you all. #Happiest. #Proud. Thank you so much to all family audience and kids for your love and support towards our movie. Thank you #Ayyappa! Hearty congratulations to the entire team of #Malikappuram! ,” Unni Mukundan said in his social media post.

Helmed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, ‘Malikappuram’ revolves around Kallu, a girl who is unhappy that her pilgrimage to Sabarimala is delayed and decides to go with her friend.
‘Malikappuram’ hit the big screens on December 30, and opened to positive reviews across the state. The film’s popularity made the makers to release the film in Tamil and Telugu on January 26.
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Unni Mukundan said, “‘Malikappuram’ is my biggest hit, not only in terms of numbers but also in elevating my graph as an actor. I am touched by the audience response. There was this elderly gentleman, in his 90s, who said that he will never be able to go to Sabarimala, because of his ill health, but watching the film gave him what he wanted! As an actor, these are the moments you live for.”
