Saiju Kurup starrer ‘Bharathanatyam’ has hit the theatres on Friday, August 30. A family entertainer, the film is written and directed by Krishnadas Murali. Featuring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, the film also has actors Sai Kumar, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Kalaranjini, Sreeja Ravi, Divya M Nair, Sruthy Suresh, Nandu Pothuval, Swathi Das Prabhu, Sohan Seenulal, Manikandan Pattambi, Salim Hassan, and, Krishnadas Murali in pivotal roles.
According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Bharathanatyam’ earned Rs 5 lakh from its domestic box office collection on Tuesday, September 3. This is a slight spike, compared to Monday, where it earned Rs 4 lakh. The film’s overall box office collection currently stands at Rs 42 lakh.
On the technical front, the film’s cinematography is done by Bablu Aju. Samuel Aby is the music director, and Shadeeque V B is the editor.
ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5 and the review reads, “Saiju Kurup delivers a commendable performance as Shashidharan, showcasing the character’s devotion to both his family and community. His portrayal is nuanced, capturing the internal conflict of a man, torn between duty and the fear of public scrutiny. Sai Kumar, as the ailing patriarch Bharathan Nair, brings gravitas to the role, anchoring the emotional core of the film. Despite its simplicity, Bharathanatyam is a film with heart. It subtly conveys the message that love can overcome even the most challenging situations, and that life, at its core, is meant to be lived with openness and grace. The movie’s pacing is steady, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the unfolding drama without feeling rushed. While Bharathanatyam may not break new ground in terms of storytelling, it succeeds in delivering a warm, engaging, and reflective cinematic experience.”
