Story: The film revolves around the college life of a group of youngsters who are music enthusiasts

Review: Oru Caribbean Udayippu throws light on strong friendship and relationships of the youth. The director of the film, A Joji, experiments with a storyline that revolves around campus love and music.

The film opens with the childhood of six youngsters, Kevin, Benson, Meenakshi, Govind, Ravi Shankar and Geethu who are ardent music lovers. They grow up together and finally join a college where they get exposure for their music skills.

Young actors, Rishi Prakash, Mareena Michael, Aneesh Menon, Musthafa, Nandhan Unni, Vishnu Vinay, Vishnu Govindhan and Mohammed Althaf, play the central characters in this campus film. Throughout the film, audience also get to see Sudani from Nigeria fame Samuel Abiola Robinson, who is one of the members of the group. Supporting them are actors, Sreejith Ravi, Devan, Kochu Preman and Parvathi T.

With sugary romance, love rejections and campus fights, the filmmaker has tried to soak the film with youthful flavour and the plot shows how the love for music is used as a tool by the youth to overcome their hurdles in life.

However, apart from a few romantic song numbers and humorous lines, the film doesn’t offer more to the audience for entertainment. The film doesn’t present any fresh element for the viewers to cherish after leaving the theatre. The storyline too is not intriguing and the entire direction is more suitable for a short film. With several youth-related clichéd segments, the film lacks a good base for enjoyable movie.
