Momo In Dubai

Story: Young Momo dreams of visiting Dubai Burj Khalifa. Will this desire be fullfiled?

Review: Momo In Dubai is a watchable movie for children with a lot of happy moments. The comparatively short movie could have been a little more crisp in its making. Momo In Dubai takes us through the lives of a father who is pursuing a better job in Dubai in the firm he works to improve the living conditions of his family and his youngest son Momo who dreams of visiting Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

All three children who take centrestage are adorable and their reactions to certain events are understandable and age appropriate. Athrey Baijuraj steals the show as Momo, the youngest son of the five-member family. Arafa Rahman and Najin Abbas Ali ace the role of the siblings.

There is no child in the movie who is gracious and too understanding of the parents' financial situation. However, they are not obtuse and love their parents and soon enough forget their small disappointments. The bond between the children's mother played by Anu Sithara and her husband played by Aneesh Menon is interesting and subtle in a way that doesn't overpower the antics of the children. In fact, these two make it equally appealing for parents and will help them relate to the movie on another level. The incident that connects to the climax is underplayed and that's the beauty of it. Johny Antony's character is an interesting addition to the story. Another interesting character is the Arab neighbour who makes Momo's day out in Dubai exciting.

However, a lot was left unexplored in the movie. There is also no clarity regarding Momo's emotions towards the end while it's others celebrating his moment of success. It could have made the movie better and more interesting.

Ameen Aslam succeeds in bringing forth the emotions of children and subsequently their parents when they realise their dreams. Sudani From Nigeria fame Zakariya K and Ashif Kakkodi has done a commendable job with the writing and screenplay.
