Isaac Newton s/o Philipose

Story: Philipose nurses a dream where his grown-up son completes his matriculation.

Movie Review: Isaac Newton s/o Philipose features a boisterous father-son pair played by Nedumudi Venu and Lal. Some of the scenes in the film veer closely around Manasinnakkare or Pappi Appacha. In this film Philipose wants his son to pass 10th standard examination which is in fact a promise he had given his wife who had died in childbirth.

When his dream is shattered, Philipose is cross with his son who also comes close to losing his childhood love Ani due to certain unexpected turn of events. Ani is the daughter of his father's friend.

The ensuing tale takes a pretty familiar path. A rich villain emerges who pines for Ani and cooks schemes to rattle the relationship between Newton and Ani.

The film is awash with colourful song sequences. Comic numbers from Tini Tom create a faint cackle at times. Nedumudi Venu, Lal and T G Ravi live up to their reputation playing their roles effortlessly. The film is spoilt by a narrative that lacks freshness. Commendable portrayals from the lead actors fail to salvage a film already marred by a stale story.
