Naslen’s next big-screen outing, ‘Mollywood Times,’ has officially got a theatrical release date. The film, directed by ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ fame Abhinav Sunder Nayak, is set to arrive in cinemas on May 15, as announced by the makers on Tuesday. The project is produced by Ashiq Usman and scripted by Ramu Sunil, who previously co-wrote the Asif Ali-starrer ‘Rekhachithram.’
A film rooted in the world of cinema
While the makers have kept the storyline under wraps, early reports and the previously unveiled first-look poster hint that ‘Mollywood Times’ is set against the backdrop of the film industry itself. The project brings together a strong technical team, with Viswajith Odukkathil handling cinematography and Jakes Bejoy composing the music. Editing duties are shared by Nidhin Raj Arol and director Abhinav Sunder Nayak.
Naslen’s packed line-up ahead
Naslen was last seen in ‘Lokah Chapter One: Chandra’ and continues to stay busy with multiple high-profile projects. He is part of the Asif Ali-led ‘Tiki Taka’ and will also feature in director Jithu Madhavan’s next with Suriya. Additionally, the actor has key roles in Tharun Moorthy’s ‘Torpedo,’ which stars Fahadh Faasil, Arjun Das, and Ganapathi.
According to Cinema Express, reports also suggest that the ‘Premalu’ actor is involved in Amal Neerad’s ‘Bachelor Party D’eux,’ the sequel to the 2012 action thriller, as well as an upcoming Mammootty project helmed by Khalid Rahman.
A crowded box office weekend
Interestingly, ‘Mollywood Times’ is not the only major release planned for that weekend. Two other anticipated films, ‘Athiradi’ and ‘Kattalan,’ are also aiming for a May 15 theatrical release. While ‘Athiradi’ features Tovino Thomas, Basil Joseph, and Vineeth Sreenivasan in lead roles, ‘Kattalan’ has Antony Varghese Pepe headlining the cast, setting the stage for a competitive box office clash.
