It’s a case of mistaken identity for Jayasurya in next
Sidharth Bharathan is back in the groove! After making a full recovery from a major car accident in September last year, the actor-director is currently busy finishing the script of his next movie, which will have Jayasurya in the lead.
“Jayasurya plays a 36-year-old character named Anil. I can’t divulge more about his character right now. Mistaken identity is the basic theme of the movie.

It has got comedy; something on the lines of Priyan sir’s films,” says Sidharth, who had worked as assistant director to Priyadarshan earlier.
The filmmaker tells us that though it’s a “done-to-death subject”, the upcoming movie will have a different take on it. “Even my last film 'Chandrettan Evideya' didn’t have a new subject; it was about an extra-marital affair. It’s just that our approach was different and that’s what worked,” he explains. Sidharth adds that he strongly believes in what his late father and veteran director Bharathan had said: ‘There are only around 15 basic story subjects which all films revolve around’. So the focus for me is not to come up with a novel subject but to present it in a fresh way.”
Sidharth has also roped in writer Anand Neelakantan, who has authored books such as Asura – The Tale of the Vanquished, as the co-scriptwriter for the movie. Apart from Jayasurya, the film will have Murali Gopy, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Sidharth’s mother KPAC Lalitha. “The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised and we expect to start filming by the end of this year,” he informs.
The filmmaker says he is also planning to build on the success of 'Chandrettan Evideya'. “The movie gave me an opening to the family audience. While my upcoming movie wouldn’t be an out-and-out family entertainer, it would appeal to them as well,” says Sidharth.
