Biju Menon to play Innocent’s driver

Its scriptwriter Babu Janardhanan tells us that the movie will be a comedy entertainer with Biju Menon and Innocent essaying important roles. “Innocent’s character Lolappan is a jewellery owner and a film producer while Biju Menon plays his driver, manager and confidante. The relationship between the two forms the crux of the humorous story,” he says.

On Biju Menon’s role in the film, Babu explains, “His character represents the mindset of today’s youth who prioritises fortune over everything else. He plays an opportunistic youngster who wants to make money anyhow. He wants to be the richest man in the district within the next five years and is willing to go any distance to make that happen — be it taking a huge dowry or stealing.”

On the similarity of the role to that of Prithviraj’s character in Vasthavam that was also scripted by Babu Janardhanan, the scribe says, “You can say the film is basically a comedy version of Vasthavam. Also, Biju’s character goes through a range of emotions and has ample scope for performance.” The movie will go on floors by mid-April with Thrissur being the prime location.
