Manju Warrier made a surprise appearance in G Marthandan's Pavada
as the love interest of
Anoop Menon's character. The actor now tells us that the makers of the film were initially planning on casting a newcomer for the role.
"But that wouldn't have worked," says Anoop. "It needed someone of Manju’s stature. I insisted that she play the part and asked her if she could take it up. Fortunately, she was gracious enough to accept the role even though it was just a blink-and-miss part," he says. The actor also lauds the actress for her. “She understood the importance of the character and did it more for the movie than for her,” he says.
The duo will also be playing a couple in
Deepu Karunakaran's upcoming film titled Karimkunnam Sixes, which revolves around a volleyball team comprising prison inmates.
