Kannada playwright Girish Karnad's Tughlaq has been directed by many people over the years - and in different languages too. If you have not watched it already, get to Ranga Shankara to catch a show this Republic Day.
Tughlaq written by Girish Karnad in 1964, is his best loved play, about an idealist 14th-century Sultan of Delhi, Muhammad bin Tughluq, and allegory on the Nehruvian era which started with ambitious idealism and ended up in disillusionment.

This time around, the play has been directed by Samkutty Pattomkary. The play will be in Kannada and the tickets are priced at Rs 100. Be at Ranga Shakara opn January 26, before 7.30 pm.
