Bengaluru-based theatre group Vedike Foundation’s upcoming play is a rib tickling comedy. Titled Bahaddur Ganda, the Kannada play revolves around the travails of a middle-class family.

Directed by Jasleen Ritwik Simha, the play will be staged this weekend as part of Vedike 40, CR Simha 80- the year-long theatre festival to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the group and to commemorate the 80th birth Anniversary of the founder CR Simha.

Lasting two hours, the story is about the elder daughter in the family, Saroja, who is a young lady with a mind of her own. She has already rejected 316 suitors. Meanwhile, the younger daughter has a secret love affair. The harassed parents and the perplexed purohit, want an ideal match for Saroja and they begin the hunt for a Bahaddur Ganda (brave husband). The play features Ritwik Simha and Rohith Srinath in the lead roles.

According to the makers, the play is set in the disco era and sways to the energetic beats of those times. The situational comedy and the brilliant dialogues promise a delightful theatre experience.
