Ultimate

Kurukshetra

, written by Ram Ganesh Kamatham, is heading to

Singapore

in November and the team is elated. Ram shares that the Bengaluru-based team, comprising cast members Anil Abraham, Anirudh Acharya, Harish Seshadri, Mallika Prasad Sinha, Karn Malhotra (Karn replaces Noel Manasseh) and Ram, will stage the play for two days, as part of a cultural event. “It is great that an Indian-English urban comedy play on

Mahabharata

will be staged alongside

Bharatanatyam

and

Carnatic music

performances. We have come a long way since we premiered the show last December. While the script largely remains the same, visually, the play has matured. Mallika has done wonders with the production design,” shares Ram.
The play is set at the beginning of the Kurukshetra war, on the

Kaurava

side of the battlefield. The rear guard, where Sudharshana, the warrior, and Adi, the charioteer are stationed, is ready for the battle charge. As they wait for the war, which is taking too long to begin, they meet unusual characters — both part of the Mahabharata and fictional, and the hilarious consequences of these meetings form the rest of the play. Apart from Singapore, the team is also set to perform the play in Bengaluru next month.
