Theatre, which is focussed on the growth of drama, have been conducting a few experiments during the pandemic. The collective will be presenting these unique exercises soon under ‘Abhyasa Malike’. Under this, the fourth exercise will be done using a tale from world’s smallest stories collection by Spanish writer Bernardo Atxaga, which is translated to

Kannada

by S Divakar. The story will be narrated by Madhu, Dhanush and Nagaraj V.
Established in 2004, the group was initially formed to promote stagecraft and dramas. Over the years, it has always created and performed numbers of plays. The group’s daily activities are handled by N Mangala and Gajanana T Naik. Over 50 actors work under the troupe. The group’s plays are performed in various places across India. It conducts annual theatre sessions for interested candidates, while it also carries out in-house and residential workshops for children in the memory of

BV Karanth

and Prema Karanth.
Some of its well-known plays include Urmila, Arahanta, Kamalamani Kamidi Kalyana, Kailasam Keechaka, Dhareyolagina Rajakarana, Narigaligeke Kodilla, Pinocchio, Vanity Bag, Sridevi Mahathme, No Presents Please, Venicina Vyapara, Nidranagari and Bhagavadajukeeya. Sanchari is the brainchild of acclaimed dramatists Mangala, Rangayana Raghu and Gajanana T Naik. Sanchari produced plays that included Kannada writers and Kannada translations of plays written by William Shakespeare and other foreign writers.
