'The Little Cloud' will feature 22 stories in six languages by 15 of India’s best theatre artistes

Given the circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, one of namma ooru favourite theatre hubs Ranga Shankara has announced plans to make its signature storytelling programme, The Little Cloud, digital this time. Presenting 22 stories in six languages by 15 of the country’s best theatre artistes, the programme will be streamed every day for 10 days on Ranga Shankara’s YouTube channel April 18 onwards. There will be two stories every morning, at 11 am and 11.20 am. A galaxy of theatre artistes will be telling stories for children in the age group three to six years as well as above six years. The six languages are Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and sign language. The storytellers are B Jayashri, Ratna Pathak Shah, Arundhati Nag, Revathy, Sihikahi Chandru, MD Pallavi, Padmavati Rao, Vinay Kumar, Ajeet Singh Palawat, Anurupa Roy, Darius Sunawala and Arti Punwani, Ipshita Chakraborty Singh, Kavya Srinivasan, Kapila Venu and Sharanya Ramprakash.Sharing her thoughts on the online programme, Arundhati says, “Today, more than ever before, as we look into the way we have conducted our lives and the kind of world we are going to bequeath to the little ones, we need to share with them stories. Stories that will enlarge their sense of self sufficiency, respect for others, sense of justice, sharing, caring and many more ways to negotiate and shape the different world ahead.
Some of the stories are Gandharvasenaru theerikondaru and Tenali Rama, Emperor Akbar gets an Education, Red Green Blue Yellow Bird and Tunta Tillu, Dum Dum Dum and Jaana Kalla, Sita in the Forest, The Cat's Tale and Tea Party...for One, Naak ki bani Soond and The Elephant’s Nose - Kan and Wonderful Christmas Gift.
