Prakasam to train theatre aspirants in the US and Canada
The pandemic may have changed the way theatre groups are functioning and might have led to the closing down of venues for them to perform, but this has not stopped the various city troupes to try out newer ways to connect with art and culture aficionados using technology. One such troupe is Prakasam, which boasts names that have experience not just in theatre but also in films and television.

The troupe is using this time and technology to mentor aspiring talent in the United States of America and Canada through a new initiative. This special programme apparently not only allows aspirants to learn acting and other tricks of theatre but even perform with members of the troupe by the end of their programme through a special virtual performance that will be staged for the Kannada diaspora that is present in North America.
Calling for aspirants for this, Prakasam members recently posted, "Nammerica and Prakasam bring you VirtueX - a virtual theatre experience for Kannadigas in US and Canada. A great opportunity for artists in North America to work with celebrity mentors and also perform alongside them. For registration and other details, email: nammerica.news@gmail.com." This definitely seems like one interesting initiative for people who are interested in theatre and also getting in touch with their Kannada roots in the United States of America as well as Canada. Among some of the noted names from Prakasam are Rajendra Karanth and PD Sathish Chandra, who have not just acted but even directed plays.
