Girish Karnad brings Tughlaq alive

Tughlaq is a 13-scene play by Girish Karnad that is on the turbulent rule of Muhammad bin Tughlaq. Though it is a historical play, the play is relevant today in the era of contemporary politics.
Tughlaq was seen as one of the most fascinating kings to have occupied the throne of Delhi and the play looks at the series of events that eventually led to his downfall.He was known for his reformist ideas and vision. He had great ideals of a unifying India, but his reign degenerated into an anarchy.
The play is directed by Sam Kutty Pattamkary and stars Arun DT, Bairesh, Dev, Kiran VR, Malathesh HV, Nachegowda BH, Niranjan Edakkana, Paneesh P, Rohit SH, Maavalli Karthik, Siddhartha Madhyamika, Sridhar D, T Surendra Rao, Sushma, Venkatesh Prasad and Vijay V Kulkarni.
