Exploring the nature of humankind

Mahabharata, to be staged by Katkatha Puppets Arts Trust, deals with the nature of human kind. The team puts forth that the central dilemma of the Mahabharata looks at the idea that human beings are born for peace; they like to grow up in peace, but are, always preparing for war. The play's narrative looks at how the characters of the Mahabharata begin to wage their personal wars, closing themselves to the consequences of their actions, and as a result, things snowball into an apocalypse.The narrative considers the way in which the Mahabharata explores the inner dilemmas of fifteen characters in the play through a stream of consciousness narrative of their motives.
The play is to be staged across Bengaluru, from August 24.
