Baadige Mane: A rib-tickler in the offing
Borrowed from a Tulu play, Baadige Mane revolves around three guys who are broke and unable to pay their rent. The owner of the house tries to get them to vacate the house by hatching a plan with a broker. The play, which has nine characters, will be presented by the students of GPIER theatre troupe.
Talking about the play, director Mime Ramesh says, “The interesting part is when the three helpless guys — Vaasu, Ranga and Kitty — fall prey to the plan hatched by the owner.

These three guys face a lot of hardships when Ranga meets an insane girl, Vaasu gets a low-paying job and Kitty ends up meeting fake parents. To make things worse, the owner is out to get them. Apart from the humour bit, the play also has a message for society.”
“The whole play reflects on how money has taken over humanity in the current world and how human beings are now averse to helping others,” adds the director.
Baadige Mane will be staged at Sri Ranga on Rangayana Premises, on July 4 and 11 at 7 pm. The duration of the play is one hour and thirty minutes.
