Pravara Art Studio

is marking its seventh year in the world of theatre by honouring the collective’s ‘off-stage theatre stars’. Now, the group has taken things a little further by announcing plans to celebrate its anniversary on August 23 with a special online show, featuring noted actor and humour writer

MS Narasimhamurthy

. Called ‘Laughter with MSN’, it will be an hour-long show on their Facebook page.

A recipient of the Sandesha Award, Narasimhamurthy is well-known for writing the scripts of a number of

Kannada

plays. He is also the creator of ‘Beg Borrow Aliya’ – a play that revolves around a funny family drama, in which the lead characters – Vishwa and his wife Vishalu – are always discussing their daughter, Laila’s, wedding, unravelling endless laughter riots. He has also acted in a number of Kannada films, with the 1998 movie ‘

Yamalokadalli Veerappan

’ being one of them. He was also part of the 2003 film, ‘

Katthegalu Saar Katthegalu

’.

As part of showing gratitude towards its ‘offstage theatre stars’, the collective has been showcasing their senior theatre director, makeup artist, photographer, designer, music director and content creator among others, on their Facebook page.

Pravara Art Studio mostly concentrates on a host of initiatives including theatre productions, corporate shows, workshops, street plays, musical events and awareness videos. Recently, the art studio put up some interesting acts online, as part of their monologue series. Mostly renditions from popular Kannada plays, these special acts are directed by
