Vijay Prakash could think of no better day than Daughters Day to release his latest number Jogi Re, which not only features his daughter Kavya, but the daughter of his co-composer and producer, Tapas Relia, Laakhi Relia as well. Taking to social media to announce the launch of the new song, Vijay spoke at length about his personal feelings in the wake of the passing of legendary singer, SP Balasubrahmanyam.

Terming his death a big loss, Vijay said that he will always remember and celebrate SPB sir. “Whatever I do henceforth will be a celebration of SPB sir. And today, I want to say, ‘SPB sir, we love you and thank you very much for what you have left us with - a treasure of 40,000 song, and your extraordinary character. We will continue to celebrate you,” he said.
He then got Tapas to join the live conversation to introduce their collaboration, Jogi Re. “Vijay and I have been friends for many years, and this song began as a remote jamming session between us, me in Mumbai and Vijay in Bengaluru, during the lockdown. We came up with the song out of nowhere and fell in love with the concept and the melody. Finally, Vijay decided that we should get our daughters, who have grown up together and know each other well, to also be a part of it,” says Tapas.
The song that is out now, integrates multiple fusion styles such as African Swahili, Hindustani and English Jazz.
