Raghu Dixit's mother passes away, singer shares news on Instagram

Singer-composer Raghu Dixit's mother passed away on Thursday. The artist, who is the frontman for the Raghu Dixit Project, a multilingual folk music band, put up a post on Instagram on Thursday night sharing the news.
Posting a picture of a painting of him and his mother, the musician wrote, "Rest in peace Amma."

Reportedly, Dixit was performing at a concert in Dubai when this happened.More details on the final rites are awaited.

Dixit debuted as a music director in the Kannada film industry in 20018 with the film Psycho. He also composed and sang a song in the Bollywood movie Quick Gun Murugan. His Kannada films, Just Math Mathalli and Kote, released soundtracks which were a big hit with audiences. Dixit's hitsongs include "Mysore se aayi," "Jag Changa," "Antaragni," "Hey Bhagwan," "Har Saans Mein," "Gudugudiya," and "Khidki." Dixit has produced music for contemporary dance and theatre productions including the Indian contemporary dance group Nritarutya. He has performed several shows all over the world including in the United States, the UK, Korea, Japan, Russia, Hong Kong, among other countries.
