Out The Slum: Music with a cause
Out The Slum by Indian777, featuring Tanushree Saha, is a hip hop/rap song that talks about the underprivileged, homeless, people from slums and orphanages, and how they struggle to survive in the world. In this song, they also talk about the current social scenario in India and the space we live in compromising our lives.
This project is a fundraiser for an NGO, led by Auto Raja, who is known in Bengaluru for taking care of people, especially the aged and destitutes.

The song creates awareness and tells the story of those living in the slums, with peppy beats and visuals. Talking to the singers about this song and what made them come up with this idea, Tanushree says, “This song was conceptualized on a common background as the rapper Indian 777, who represents the slums, also had a tough life while growing up. So, we found a common ground and the result is the song Out The Slum.”
The song was shot mostly in the slums of Bengaluru, where the makers have portrayed the kind of lives that people live. Wanting to uplift the people, give them some hope and a good sign, the lyrics in this song tells about everything in detail.
“The viewers response to this song has been amazing. The people who we showed it to have given us some really good reviews. Through this song, the NGO has also gotten a lot of help from the public. We are very proud of it because it is not a regular rap song; it has a purpose and a cause to it,” says Tanushree, who is now working on her next solo project, which is about stray dogs in the city and how one should adopt stray dogs and not buy pedigrees.
