No more audio piracy in Sandalwood?
Audio companies who are a part of the Kannada film industry are heaving a sigh of relief. The long pending anti-goonda act has finally got a nod from the President of India.
The approved new act is expected to come to effect in Karnataka shortly. Speaking about the development, audio music company owner Lahari Velu said, "This is great news for the Kannada film industry which has been a target of audio piracy for many years.

The anti-goonda act was apparently approved by the President of India last December. But it has taken over two months for us to get the update. With this, our long pending problem has finally been solved. The act has been approved and it will soon come in to force."
Velu also thanked former Chief Ministers H D Kumaraswamy for introducing the bill, B S Yediyurappa for moving the bill and the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for effectively bringing the anti-goonda act.
