One of the most popular tracks from Apurva Kasaravalli's directorial debut Niruttara is Hoo Mele Hani. The song has been on the charts and is a crowd favourite. A little-known fact is that the song has a history and composer
Niladri Kumar has re-created one of his decade-old compositions, Iris Peg from the album Priority, especially for this film. 'When Niladri decided to re-create this track, I was naturally the first choice, since I had sung the original.
They asked me if I could manage singing in Kannada and I realized it wouldn't be hard since I am used to singing jingles in different languages for ads. So, with a little guidance, I got to sing it right,' reveals June.
The singer, who has a popular fan base in Bengal, worked with Niladri after over a decade with this track. 'He wanted me to sing some other tracks too, but I was on a break due to some personal reasons and couldn't sing them. Eventually, towards the end of their production process, I was called by the team to hum for the song Aaha Identha. I got to listen to the other tracks and also got to see parts of the film. I'm looking forward to it,' adds June.
