Iman is all set to perform his two-hour-long concert on October 9, which was initially planned for May 2021. An ode to Rabindranath Tagore and other musical geniuses like Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Tansen,

Raju Anantswami

, Lalan Fakir,

Nazrul Islam

and

Amir Khusru

, the performance, will be in different formats, over two parts.

“The first half, titled Smaran, will see me performing alongside popular music artistes like Shwetha Prabhu, Arundhati Hegde,

Mala Ray

and Khanak Joshi. In the second part, I will be giving the music for an English play titled The Handkerchief, which is a psychological thriller. For the first time, I am mixing Western concerto style with thumris in an English play. Since it is a relationship drama, I have experimented with different thumris to bring out the emotion in each scene,” Iman tells us.

What makes this performance even more special for Iman is that his wife,

Snigdha DS

, is one of the characters in the play.
