Ganesh’s Buguri brings Mickey to Sandalwood again

Well known music director Mickey J Meyer, who has films like Happy Days and Kotha Bangaru Lokam to his credit, is all set to return to Kannada films yet again with Ganesh’s forthcoming film, Buguri, which is to be directed by MD Sridhar. Incidentally, this will be Ganesh’s 25^th film.
Interestingly, Mickey was introduced to Kannada cinema by none other than Sridhar himself.It was Jolly Days, the Kannada remake of Telugu hit, Happy Days that got Mickey to Sandalwood. After the music scored for Happy Days became successful, Sridhar decided to retain Mickey for the music of the Kannada version too. Later, Mickey scored music for another Kannada film, Cheluvina Chilipili which was directed by S Narayan. Both Jolly Days and Cheluvina Chilipili had a great musical score which went on to become a hit with the audiences. But post that, Mickey did not pursue a career in Sandalwood. It will be interesting to see now what kind of a response he gets with his comeback film.
