A host of artistes will perform at the event
City indulges in a folk music treat
Fakiri: A complete folk festival is going to take place in Bengaluru soon. The six-day event aims to bring the rich, diversified, spiritual and mystic essence of Indian mitti on one platform, through urbanized Indian folk music. Internationally acclaimed and highly popular folk artists, performers, singers and dancers will perform at the event. This is the first time that city is hosting a folk festival of this scale.
The artistes performing at the event include Ustaad Shujaat Khan, Sromona Chakraborty, Raghu Dixit, Saurav Moni, Tamojit Ray, Mame Khan, Mathangi Jagdish, Chandana Bala, Aabha Hanjura, Shreekumar Vakkiyil and Saptarshi Mukherjee.
The other attractions of the festival include handicraft exhibition, photography competition and mouth-watering street food from different parts of country.
The event will go on until June 19 at Phoenix MarketCity, Whitefield Road, Mahadevapura.
