Bangalore School of Music to present an evening of arias and duets

The Bangalore School of Music will be conducting a musical concert on November 9. The concert, which will be held at the Aruna Sunderlal Auditorium of the school, will include

arias, songs and duets, is conducted by the senior vocal faculty of the music school. The concert has been titled 'Of Love and Other Things!' and the proceeds from the concert will go to the school's ongoing fund-raising efforts towards a new grand piano. The performances will be from soloists including Ms Payal John (

soprano

), Ms Bhumika Anantharaman (soprano) and Mr Nivedh Jayanth (bass) singing from the wonderful world of opera such as '

Carmen

', 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'Tannhäuser' and oratorios like'

Elijah

' crowned by German Lieder as well as a treasure trove of art songs. Joining the singers on piano is Ms Rebecca Thomas Colaco, head of the piano department at the school and also well-known to the Bangalore audience as a collaborative pianist.
