An evening of progressive contemporary music
Bengaluru is set to be treated to a musical evening with actor Namit Das and composer
Their music and lyrics revive a forgotten era of India's culture in a brand new light. The collaboration has spawned a new sound that features hand-picked elements of Indian folk, contemporary poetry, Indian classical compositions, Jazz, Blues and more. Namit Das + Anurag Shanker have managed to create a sophisticated and minimalistic yet intense live soundscape. This sound that celebrates the glory of Indian music and writing with an attitude of its own, has been captured on their first release Din Gaye (2014) that was acclaimed for its unique impact on listeners. They are currently working on their full-length album that goes into production later this year. The early set will feature singer-songwriter Abhi Tambe.
