Sidlingu 2 narrates the hero's growth well: Director Vijaya Prasad

Kannada movie Sidlingu 2 which has Yogi and Sonu Gowda, in lead roles is a sequel to the super hit film Sidlingu. Directed by Vijaya Prasad the movie is set to release this Friday (February 14). Director Vijaya Prasad says, “It’s been 12 years since Sidlingu was released so, in this movie, we will narrate about the life of Sidlingu in brief and then we will delve deep into the life of a matured Sidlingu (Yogi), who is working as a supervisor at a garment and soap factory. However, his biggest dream is to own a car. He also has feelings towards Niveditha (Sonu Gowda) who is a government school teacher. The duo is sharing the screen space for the first time and their chemistry is already much talked about, which is a positive sign for us. Also, those who haven’t watched Sidlingu can watch this film.”

The filmmaker - who is making a sequel for the second time - adds, “The subject has a myriad of human emotions which gave me the space to write Sidlingu 2 and when audiences have already accepted the first draft, it also boosts our confidence to carry on with the character sketches by retaining the core element.”
Vijayaprasad, whose last film was Thotapuri: Chapter 2, which did not do as well as expected, adds, “I have realized my mistakes and have completely changed my writing style which will resonate with the audiences. I have not used any double-entendre and have focused on humour and emotional portrayal with a
profound storyline which is entertaining and will give a refreshing feeling.”

The director has collaborated with music director Anoop Seelin for the sixth time, says, “We know each other very well which makes it easier to work together. The melodious song Katheyondu Kaadide is topping the music charts which is a great sign ahead of the release.”
