Traditionally, Mandya has been considered as the most important stronghold for Kannada films. One of the strongest Kannadiga dominated regions in Karnataka, it boasts of fanatic followers of Kannada cinema. Add to this, the rich political legacy of this region, it becomes the most wanted region for actors to promote their film. And with the district's platinum jubilee being celebrated this weekend, all the top stars are expected to be in this district that's sandwiched between Bengaluru and Mysuru.
