Kannada actresses who are dancing divas too!

A hit song, coupled with hot moves, can make or break a film. And this is as applicable for Sandalwood, as it is for Bollywood. So we bring together a list of Kannada actresses, who not only won the audience’s heart with their acting skills, but also set the screen on fire with their sizzling dance moves.
Here take a look!

Urvashi Rautela

When it comes to Sandalwood actresses who love dancing a tad more than acting, we can’t forget the former beauty pageant winner-turned-actress Urvashi Rautela, who made her Kannada film debut with Mr Airavataa, signed the film only because it would let her flaunt her dance skills! The beauty queen is trained in seven dance forms — Bharatanatyam, Kathak, jazz, ballet, belly dancing, contemporary and hip-hop. Now even Bollywood is a slave of her dance moves.

Sruthi Hariharan

The Lucia and Savaari 2 actress Sruthi Hariharan always wanted to take dance as a profession. To fulfill her dreams, she performed as a background dancer with choreographer Imran Sardhariya, before she began doing short films, and the rest they say is history. Dance, for her, has always had an emotional bond and she switches to music and dance in her mind whenever she is stressed. Her sensuous moves in the glamorous song Sunday Banthu from the movie Plus proved her position in the industry as an ace dancer.

Aindrita Ray

The Manasaare heroine trained under fashion choreographer MS Sreedhar. Not many would remember that Aindrita was seen in a song in the Harsha- and Dhyaan-starrer Jackpot. However, later she proved her mettle in songs like Basanthi and Kuntebille. She also set the temperatures soaring when she slipped into her dancing shoes in the item number Konkana Sutti Mailarakke Bande Naanu from the movie Prem Adda.

Meghana Gaonkar

This multi-talented actress is well-known for her dancing skills in the Sandalwood industry. Not only is she trained in Bharatnatyam and Kathak, but she has mastered her hold over contemporary dance as an assistant instructor Shiamak Davar’s Dance Company for over seven years! She has not only trained hundreds of dancers, but has also performed in the closing ceremony of Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, in 2006. It was her dancing skills that led her to debut on the small screen and then on the big screen.

Bhavana Rao

The heroine has danced onstage with many known faces during her stint with her dance troupe, before she landed a Yogaraj Bhat film, Gaalipata, to enter tinsel town. Who can forget her moves to the song Nadhimdhim Tananana. Since then, she has garnered a lot of fame for her dancing skills. This accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer has also showed her sexy moves in an item number in the Meghana Raj starrer Bahuparaak.
