A look at the Kannada movies releasing this week: From ‘Gentleman’ to ‘Ojas’

The Kannada film industry is getting popular every year, with multiple movies in different genres being released every week. Some of these movies are being dubbed and released in different languages. This week on Friday, 7 Kannada movies are all set to hit the theatres which might grab the attention of the audience. These movies include Prajwal Devaraj’s ‘Gentleman’, Vijay Ragavendra’s ‘Malgudi Days’, ‘Jiilka’, ‘Bill Gates’, ‘Pursothrama’, ‘Arishadvarga’ and ‘Ojas’.

Gentleman

‘Gentleman’ is a complete action thriller movie directed by Jadesh Kumar Hampi, starring Dynamic Prince Prajwal Devaraj and Nishvika Naidu in the lead role. This action thriller movie is based on the sleeping disorder Sleeping Beauty Syndrome due to which the protagonist sleeps 18 hours a day. The movie is produced by Guru Deshpande and there are huge expectations from the movie. Music director B Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music for this one. Sanchari Vijay is playing a major role, and the movie has cast like Tabla Nani, Bharat Kalyan, Hanumanthe Gowda, Aruna Balaraj, Vijay Chandur, Prashanth Siddi, Aaradhya.N.Chandra and others.

Pursothrama

‘Pursothrama’ is a drama about three friends from different generations who spend their time annoying, pranking people at their adda. The movie shows the value for time, money and responsibilities in life. Directed by Saru, the film is produced by Manasa. Ravishankar Gowda, Kuri Prathap, Shivraj KR Pete are playing lead roles in this one. The movie also has cast like Bank Janardhan, Manasa, Sahana, and Anusha Pakali. Suddho Roy is composing music for this movie.

Arishadvarga

‘Arishadvarga’ is a neo-noir mystery thriller written, produced and directed by Arvind Kamath. The movie stars Avinash, Samyukta Hornad, Nandagopal, Anju Alva Naik, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Arvind Kuplikar, Sudha Belavadi, Sathya Hornad and Sreepathy Manjanbail in crucial roles. The movie is about a person who lands in trouble after accepting a surprise gift ‘a murder’ from his anonymous client. Udit Haritas has composed music for this mystery thriller.

Ojas

‘Ojas’ is a female-oriented movie directed by CJ Vardhan starring Neha Saxena and Bhavya in the lead roles. The movie is about a woman who works as a District Commissioner, making people take the right path instead of earning money illegally. The movie has cast like Yatiraj, Hanumantraju, Shobharaj, Dingri Nagaraj, Mysore Ramanand, G.Murthy, and others playing supporting characters. Karthik Venkatesh has composed music for ‘Ojas’.

Malgudi Days

‘Malgudi Days’ starring Vijay Raghavendra directed by Kishore Moodabidre has created a huge curiosity among the audience through its first look and posters. The team has dedicated the movie to legendary Shankar Nag, which is all set for release on February 7. The movie is about a writer Lakshminarayana Malgudi who retires from his job to enjoy life and complete a few pending things. The writer is joined by a girl on this journey making it more joyful. Grishma Sridhar is playing the female lead role in the movie, which is produced by K. Ratnakar Kamath. Gagan Badaria has composed the music for this movie.

Jiilka

After ‘Josh’ and ‘Kirik Party’ there is another student movie ‘Jiilka’ that is creating huge buzz in Sandalwood, starring Kaveesh Shetty in the lead role. Kaveesh Shetty is making his debut in Sandalwood as an actor, director, writer, and lyricist from ‘Jiilka’. The story of this movie revolves around the topics of teenage, college life and relationships. The teaser and songs of the movie ‘Jiilka’ have already attracted the audience, and are being released simultaneously in Kannada, Hindi and Marathi. Priya Hegde, Laksh Shetty and Gopika Dinesh have paired up with Kaveesh Shetty in this movie. The movie is produced under Kaveesh Shetty Productions. Pranshu Jha has composed the music for the movie.

Bill Gates

‘Bill Gates’ is about two boys who move to Bangalore to achieve their goal of becoming billionaires after their teacher punishes them in 8th grade. This movie is directed by Srinivasa C Mandya starring Shishir Shastry and Chikkanna in the lead roles. ‘Bill Gates’ is produced by Vasantha Kumar, and Nobin Paul has composed the music.
