Youngsters must vote, it empowers them: Thejaswini Sharma

I n the run up the Lok Sabha polls, actress Thejaswini Sharma is urging youngsters to exercise their civic duty and vote. The actress, who is set to feature in an as-yetuntitled rap song that aims to create awareness about voting, believes artists have a social responsibility to encourage voting, especially among young people. “India’s large youth population has a significant impact on the country's future, and voting is crucial for a healthy democracy,” says Thejaswini. “Young people need to be reminded that voting empowers them to ask questions of their leaders,” she adds. The song will also feature Ananya Amar, Smile Guru Rakshith, Brunda Prabhakar and Abhay; and will be crooned by Aishwarya Rangarajan and Rakesh Adiga. Music for the song has been composed by Karthik Sharma while Anu Mothi has penned the lyrics.
