KJ Yesudas back in Sandalwood with Goli Soda

In getting veteran playback singer KJ Yesudas back to Kannada cinema after a few years with a song in Goli Soda, director Raghu Jaya has fulfilled a personal wish. 'There are two people that I wanted to work with in films ' Ilaiyaraaja and KJ Yesudas. I am a huge fan of both of them and am delighted that I have got Yesudas to sing in my film. I hope to get many more such opportunities with him, but, right now, I am satisfied,' says the director.Even though working with the legendary singer was a dream, Raghu admits that he was doubtful of getting it done. 'At first, I wondered if he could do it, considering that he is in his late 70s, and I thought that his voice may be shaky. But he has done such a wonderful job with the pathos number, Vidhi Likhithaane, composed by Rajesh Ramanath,' he says. And such was the singer's dedication, that he recorded it just hours after meeting the team. 'Rajesh, our producer Praveen Kolla and I had gone to Chennai for the recording. We met Yesudas at around 4 pm. He heard the tune several times and by 8 pm the song was done,' says Raghu.
