The past few weeks have seen a spate of re releases in the theatres and multiplexes in Karnataka in their bid to bring back crowds to the

cinema halls

after the pandemic. Everyone has been curious about which would be the first new film to take that bold step to announce its release in this post

pandemic

era. From what everything seems, it won't be a big star studded affair but instead a film that has piqued the serious cinephile's mind and comes from a critically acclaimed and award winning filmmaker. It looks like Mansore's ACT-1978 that starts Yagna Shetty in the lead will be the first big film to hit the screens. The team, which launched a song last week during Dasara, is now releasing its trailer through the hands of Puneeth Rajkumar on

Karnataka Rajyotsava

.

The project, directed by National Award-winning director Mansore, has actors Yagna Shetty, Pramod Shetty, B Suresha, Shruthi and Achyuth Kumar in the lead roles. The movie has been given a ‘U’ certificate without any cuts. ACT-1978, which deals with a woman-centric storyline, raised curiosity among viewers with the poster of a pregnant lady holding a boy, and a walkie-talkie and a bomb tied to her waist.

The film has a top notch technical team, which includes Satya Hegde behind the camera. The film's soundtrack has been scored by Rahul Shivakumar while the lyrics for the recently released farmer's anthem and tribute were penned by Jayanth Kaikini. To lend the authentic feel to the film, Santhosh Panchal has done the art direction.
