For many months after her early 2013 release Bangari, Ragini Dwivedi was pretty much doing nothing in Sandalwood. Her film Ragini IPS had been stalled, and the only other offers she had were for special numbers in films like Victory and her subsequent Bollywood debut, R... Rajkumar. Her only other Kannada film Basavanna also, was taking an inordinate time in the making. But all that has changed now. The actress is suddenly in demand again, replacing Priya Mani for a pivotal role in
Namaste Madam, and bagging a prestigious Yogaraj Bhat production called
Parapancha. She is also rumoured to be playing the lead in a film called
Ragini Superstar. This sudden spurt of activity in her career graph though has sent rumour mills into overdrive.
In a report that appeared in a Kannada newspaper, it has been alleged that the actress's closeness to the producers of these films is how she has been getting roles. (see pic). The report alleges that Ragini works 'double shifts' -- one on set and one with people that matter -- to get film offers.
