Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi

was recently spotted alongside environmentalists and activists hugging trees and holding placards near Dairy Circle protesting BMRCL's latest move to cut the trees in Bannerghatta Road for the Metro Project.

Taking a rather serious stance and talking about the environment the actress shared, "We talk about the weather, we say its cloudy, it is sunny, but do you know the most important thing to know about the weather. It is the

of city or a country. It is the most important thing to know when we talk about weather. And do you the UV index of Bangalore? It is 9 and it should have been 1-2. And, that is scary. UV rays are extremely dangerous and cause skin diseases including

, affect our environment and is responsible for increasing the pollution," she says.

"But, do you know why is it happening? It is because you and me together are not taking care of our environment, we are chopping down trees, building complexes and offices with glasses and not being responsible towards the greenery around us. Hence, please take a step and stop this from happening. Let us protect namma Bengaluru," she wraps up.

The actress along with Sonika Gowda was seen raising concerns over BMRCL's recent move. The actress has been extremely vocal about social issues and on Thursday took part in a maskathon in namma Bengaluru.
