When I got the chance to work with Puneeth again, I grabbed it: Rachita Ram

Rachita Ram is excited about working in Natasaarvabhowma
Working with an A-list star is every heroine’s dream and when you do it repeatedly, it is a true mark of the actress’ worth and standing in the industry. Namma Kannadada hudugi Rachita Ram not only has that distinction to her credit, but has also established herself as the actress who has pretty much worked with every Kannada hero worth his salt. With only days to go for her second film with Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar,

Natasaarvabhowma

, to release, the actress takes time off to have a quick word with us about the film, working with Puneeth and more.
“When Natasaarvabhowma was offered to me, there were multiple factors that decided it for me that I would take it up. For starters, it gave me the chance to work with Puneeth again after

Chakravyuha

, so I just had to grab it. Second, it would be my first film with director

Pavan Wadeyar

, who has quite an impressive track record, and third, of course, the fact that Rockline Venkatesh was backing the project. When a film has so much going for it, it is difficult to let go of it,” says Rachita.

One thing about the Puneeth-starrer is that the entire team has been guarding the premise and character descriptions so fiercely that not much is in the public domain so far. After the trailer launch, though, fan theories online have been that Rachita’s character has a supernatural touch to it. The actress, though, cleanly sidesteps from giving away any information, and says, “With the film releasing this week, I want to keep the curiosity going about my character, as well as of others in the film. This film is content-driven, and I can say that I get to play a crucial role.”
Ask her about working with Puneeth and she gets all chatty again. “It is always a pleasure working with him. There is an abundance of energy that he brings to the set and his very presence makes it so lively. No wonder he is called the Power Star. I enjoyed every moment of working with him,” says Rachita.
On the career front, the last few years have been good for the actress and she has a few project lined up already. But given that many of her films are hardcore commercial flicks, one wonders if they give her creative satisfaction as an actor? “Kannada films have kept me busy, and with varied roles, which I am happy about. With every movie that I have done so far, the makers have tried to bring something new out of me with regard to characterisation. Having said that, as a heroine, I still crave to do better and I always feel that my best is yet to come,” she signs off.
