during the lockdown, the way ahead for the industry and more...margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal Tell us about your latest single Neenu Iru Ninna Tara… This song was written when I was in the Bigg Boss house. The inspiration for it came during my stay there. When Vasuki Vaibhav, Chandana Ananthakrishna, Shine Shetty - who are all brilliant singers - would sing, I would come up with a little rap. Some of the lines were written back then. During the lockdown, one of my friends, who designs posters, said that his relative, Praveen Srinivasmurthy would like to compose something for me. Home Stay Safe is about a couple, during the pandemic - how they take things lightly and the consequences thereof. It features my nephew, Samarth, who has acted earlier in films like Mataash. margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normalWhat else have you been up to since the lockdown?margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normalI have been busy cleaning my house (laughs). I started cooking in the Bigg Boss house because we had to. But that stuck with me. Now, I have started cooking more and am known for my iruli bhath and tomato bhath. margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normalYou are also all set to resume shooting… margin-bottom:0cm;margin-bottom:.0001pt;line-height: normal We have to start shooting, because serials on TV have to continue and go on air. Shooting will take place with minimum crew, and all precautions will be taken. Recently, I shot for a promo, for which maximum precaution was implemented. Reality shows are also set to begin again, with minimum crew. Did the lockdown feel similar to your experience in the Bigg Boss Kannada house? It was a little tough initially, because I had just finished Bigg Boss. I was shocked when the lockdown was announced. For a creative person like me it is difficult to just stay at home, we need to go out, be on set and perform different roles. Honestly, it was like we were being trained inside the Bigg Boss house for the lockdown. The lockdown allowed people to experience how it is like to be inside the house for months. When you were in the Big Boss house you missed your family, especially your daughter terribly. Did you make up for that during the lockdown? Absolutely. I was so happy to be with her. I got to spend so much time with her. I think in my 5-6 years of marriage, I have never spent time like this with my family. It is good that I got to spend time with them. However, after a point it gets a little frustrating, because professionally we aren’t doing anything. We have to earn money otherwise how will we run our homes? You have acted in films and TV serials, been on a reality show, directed films and are now singing. How are you going to surprise your fans next? Most of the time, creativity comes from the hunger to learn something new. This is my bread and butter as well. I started working right out of college and yes, acting is my passion, but it also helps me earn. When there is no work, you start thinking what to do next. When I didn't have serials and films, there was a phase when I started working as a voice-over artiste. I have done 20-25 films, with voice overs. Since I was at home, and there was no shooting taking place, I wondered, what to do next. So, I took my camera and started shooting. I am someone who cannot sit idle. I feel these things happen due to divine intervention. I will definitely come up with more songs, as I am currently enjoying myself as a hip-hop singer.
