Jai, nephew of actors Vijay Raghavendra and Sriimurali, who is set to make his Sandalwood debut with Grey Games, tells us he was thrilled to play a character with an intense sketch in his first big screen outing. “I play the role of a young professional gamer called Abhi, who is rebellious and addicted to gaming. He falls in love with a girl in the metaverse. For a 20-year-old to connect to someone who exists elsewhere and the complications that come up due to changes in this parallel universe, is nothing short of mind-boggling,” says Jai, who has trained in theatre for over a year.
The young actor tells us that he went through quite a bit of preparation to play this role. “I watched certain videos of gaming tournaments to study the body language and mannerisms of gaming addicts. I have played games in life too, so it wasn’t much challenging to get into the skin of the character. But working on the emotional aspects based on the tips of director Gangadhar, helped to face the camera without any nervousness,” he signs off.
