Want Darshan as Sindhoora Lakshmana? Wait for a few years

Producer Umapathy, filmmaker Tharun Sudhir and Sandalwood superstar Darshan have teamed up together for Roberrt. The film was to have released in April, but the pandemic has caused a big delay in their plan. There has already been news about the trio teaming up for another project as well.
There were talks about Darshan expressing his interest in portraying the historical character of Sindhoora Lakshmana.Incidentally, Umapathy has procured rights to make the film. A source close to the development says that there are plans of making the film, but this will not be in the immediate future. Darshan is already working on another historical film, Rajaveera Madakari Nayaka. Hence, there will most likely be a gap between that film and this film. There has already been an announcement of Darshan teaming up with Milana Prakash once again after Taarak, this time for a political thriller. The film is most likely going to be the next one that Darshan will work on after the Madakari Nayaka film.
Incidentally, the previous biopic on Sindhoora Lakshmana saw the late actor Sudhir in the lead role. It will be a special moment for everyone in the film industry to see his son Tharun direct the newer version of the film that was made popular by his father.
Sindhoora Lakshmana, who is regarded as one of the most valiant freedom fighters from Karnataka, is a character that people look up to with reverence. Darshan has previously excelled with his portrayal as Sangolli Rayanna, so his taking on another such landmark role will only be a treat for people to look forward to.
Incidentally, there was a film with multilingual actor Kishore as Sindhoora Lakshmana that was announced in 2018 and is still in the making.
