Late Malayalam actress Monisha Unni shot to fame with her debut film Nakakshathangal, which also fetched her a National Award for Best Actress). The young actress and danseuse, known for her long flowing tresses, tragically died at the age of 21, way back in 1992 in a car crash. Her mother, Karnataka Kalashree Smt Sreedevi Unni has been living in Bangalore for long, and runs a dance school in Indiranagar. On the occasion of the late actress's birthday, her mother and colleagues from the film industry are getting together for a tribute to her. Vineeth will take the stage with a dance tribute, which will include his interpretation of the dance sequence between the actress and Mohanlal in
Kamaladalam, followed by a recital by Sreedevi Unni herself. The event is being held at the auditorium of the Jyoti Nivas College, Koramangala, Bangalore.
Others expected at this event include actors
Suresh Gopi and Manoj K Jayan, who've worked with Monisha, as well as renowned writer MT Vasudevan Nair (who scripted
Nakakshathangal) and Surya Krishnamurthy.
The event is open to the public free of cost and seats will be available on first come first serve basis.
