Vikram Ravichandran names his next after a dog breed

Actor Ravichandran’s family is known for their love for dogs. Now, stepping up their game, Vikram Ravichandran’s second film has been named after an Indian breed of dog, the Mudhol.
“Appa (his father, actor V Ravichandran) suggested the title,” Vikram reveals, adding, “We were brainstorming the title, and he saw my eyes light up when he suggested Mudhol. The title works on two levels – one, an important scene is set in Mudhol in Bagalkot. Secondly, the film is about how the protagonist exudes the characteristics of the breed. He is intelligent, reserved, fast, loyal and courageous. For generations, they have displayed their territorial and protective temperament. My character embodies all these traits.” The desi Mudhol also has an important role in the film.

‘I will forever be a student of cinema and a learner’
On Vikram’s second outing, he is collaborating with director Karthik Rajan for a gangster drama. “It is a raw, rugged film, we are aiming to make a statement in the industry,” he says. Ravichandran was known for his soft, lover boy roles and now, Vikram choosing a gangster drama, also sees him optimistic.
Vikram explains, “He heard just a one-line story, and was happy. He has taught me to give everything to a film, and I will follow that. While this is just my second film, I will forever be a student of cinema and a learner. My motto is to bring more audiences to theatres. I don’t want them to think about watching a film on OTT, at least not for the first 45 days after my film releases.”
Vikram’s debut, Trivikrama, had opened to mixed reviews. “Many people give up on golden opportunities as they did not succeed in their first attempt. Success and failures come and go, learning is the only constant,” he signs off.
