have been once again bagged the Jana Mecchida Nayaka and Nayaki title at a recently concluded awards do. The duo share their thoughts.

You’ve won this fourth time in a row. Feels like the first time or is it becoming a habit now?
Even today, when they announce the winner’s name, I feel butterflies in my stomach. For the first few seconds when I render my speech, I feel like it’s my first win. Then it sinks in that I’ve won it before, but the euphoria is still the same.
What is it about Siddharth, your character, that makes him so desirable to the audience?
It’s probably the fact that he is a complete family man. He adores his wife, is a dutiful son, is an amazing son-in-law...in short, an ideal man. He wasn’t like this to begin with. He lives in with a girl, loses her, marries Sannidhi in a match arranged by his parents and gradually falls in love with her. So it’s over the years that he perfects his imperfections.
Is Siddharth’s character realistic in these times? Do you identify with him in any way?
I do. A lot actually. I’m known to be my family’s pet and I adore them. Like Siddharth, I like keeping everyone happy.
Your pairing with Vaishnavi is such a hit that fans want you to get together in real life too.
I’ve seen these requests too and it’s heart-warning that fans like our pair so much. Vaishnavi and I have become good friends during the course of this serial. And that’s where it stops.

It’s three times lucky in your case. The title is yours again.
This may sound a little strange, but I’m not a sucker for awards. Everybody works just as hard and it seems a little unfair when the title is given to one person. I’d like to believe that everybody deserves an award. But yes, I’ll thank the audience for their love.
What is it about Sannidhi that has endeared her to the audience?
Sannidhi is extremely patient and never overreacts to anything. She is lovable and is adored by one and all.
How much do you identify with your role?
Almost 80%. I am patient in real life too. I think a lot of Sannidhi’s traits have rubbed off on me too.
Fans would like to see you and Vijay come together off screen, too.
We share a great vibe on screen, yes. And audiences have to realise that it’s all make believe. But I’m grateful for their undying love towards Siddharth and Sannidhi.
